I really like this charger very easy to useCharger fine but no simple on off switch, and no printed instructions were included in the box. Features seem to work as intended.Easy to use..just hook up two cables and you are all set...This is portable, of course, due to the size. I like that it is an automatic battery charger and a trickle charger. Makes it much easier. Works for both 12v and 24v as described...although I'm not sure what would require a 24v charge. I have a diesel pick up that has 2 batteries, and it does a great job. It is built to monitor the charging of the battery and the voltage helping give extra long life to batteries. Can be used on just about anything that is either 12v or 24v. I've used this on my mower, quad and truck.I got this for the camper van that my husband and I are building. We are learning how to camp in a van yet and we don't have solar panels, nor big batteries installed yet. Our fridge ate up our battery because we left it plugged while the engine was off and when we came back it was great that I had bought this jump starter. It was very easy to use and it worked very well. I do recommend it. I have another one that is suppose to work mainly in cars, and that comes in a case and it is really good. It is a pity that this one didn’t come in a case, but I bought in a bag with strings and it did the job.Great small compact battery charger.Perfect for keeping your battery topped off.Works ok but its pretty light weight pretty sure its not going to last very long it wilk probable wirk for a year then stop. Should be better quilty. Its like a lot of crap on Amazon. I should stop buying thing i cant see first.Firstly, I am no mechanic, nor do I profess to know the first thing about cars. My profession is IT so when I'm asked about something in a car, I'm completely lost. So for the 2nd time in 12 months, my car had a flat battery. As I didn't want to ask my neighbour a few doors down (again) to jump start me, I thought I'd invest in one of these chargers so I read the reviews and I landed on this one.Well! - What a doddle. So, you start by connecting the red to the positive terminal and the black to the earth point (my earth was an unpainted bolt not too far from the positive point). You need to make sure the earth is far from the battery, unless your battery is in your boot like mine.I then connected it to the main and powered it in. You then touch the finger print button and each touch cycles through one of 4 modes. I selected vehicle and it began to charge. It flashes through 20, 40, 60, 80, 100% and once each percentage is charged, that percentage stops flashing, while the others continue. Once the battery is fully charge, all segments stop flashing and it says 'OFF' meaning the battery is fully charged and the circuit has stopped charging the battery. - I couldn't believe how easy it was.It took me 8-8.5 hours to fully charge my battery from completely flat to full. I realise this product has received some negative reviews but I can't understand why, maybe they were one offs? - I can't score this thing highly enough and the best thing - I'm not owing to any neighbours AND, I don't need to take it for a drive for 30 mins to charge the battery as it's fully charged (although I did take it for a little test spin). All in all, I'm very happy with this charger. We have a static caravan and a small boat there that we use for fun and fishing. We use an electric motor that runs off a 12v battery as high powered engines are forbidden on the loch. It needs recharging on a regular basis and this cracking wee battery charger is the ideal thing to keep at the van. It is so very easy to operate and worked so well at recharging my battery ready to connect to the outboard. It is well made and seems pretty solid as well as being very compact compared with others I have owned. The LED is nice and clear and easy to read and it displays all relevant information you might need. The fan might appear just a little bit noisy but it shuts off when battery is charged and it is a small price to pay as it sets us up for the water. The clips to the battery are not terribly long but I don't think this would be much of an issue as we managed very well, in fact it keeps it all very tidy. This charger has the capability to charge different types of battery including lithium which is a bonus and you can leave connected as it has an auto cut out when fully charged. Glad we bought it and happy to recommend especially at the price we paid.Have found it useful to periodically charge up my son's car battery, whose car is unused for months while he is away at Uni. It does take several hours to slowly charge up, going through the phases of desulphation etc. Hopefully, it gives the battery a long life. One day the battery was totally flat and the charger failed to get started with the charging. It kept sounding an alarm with a message "LOW" indicating the battery's charge was too low to charge up. Thankfully, I have another old charger which gave the battery enough charge for this charger to then take over the job. I'm not sure if the charger would have eventually started charging despite the alarm, but the noise was too much to bear.I had to return the first charger. It wouldn’t charge a new Eco Worthy Lifep04 50ah battery beyond 40% after 18 hours and only achieved a charge rate of 1.5 amps. I then tested the BuddyGo in Lead Mode on a new lead acid battery (fully charged with a CTEK charger) and after 30mins it again only showed 40%, though charging at 5 amps. I then reconnected the CTEK to the lead acid battery and the CTEK showed 100% charged in less than a minute.BuddyGo responded very well, said I didn't need to return the first charger, and sent me a new one. This also appeared to stick at 40% but when I left it for 24 hours it finally showed the Lifep04 battery as fully charged. I have no idea why it took so long as the battery appeared fully charged when I started and all I was doing was testing it.I am pretty sure that this model of BuddyGo charges Lifep04 batteries at 1.5ah not at the 6ah rate described - this is little more than a trickle charge. But perhaps it takes time for the charger adjust to a battery and in any case you can't expect too much when paying £28. If the situation changes as I use the charger I will amend this review.ADDENDUMI think I now understand what is going on re Lifepo4 batteries and this BuddyGo charger. Lifep04 batteries have a very flat discharge curve ie they push out almost the same voltage when 80% discharged as when fully charged. This means that voltage meters such as that on the BuddyGo are little use for a Lifepo4 battery which can show nearly fully charged when in fact it’s about to run out. BuddyGo would do well to explain this issue in the product description - and also to point the charge rate on the BuddyGo for Lifep04 batteries is 1.5 amps, much less than for lead acid batteries. It charged a battery and says it is full, but when I try to start the car - nothing happens.I tried to run repair mode - it took 16 hours, but still no luck with starting the car.The instruction doesn't clearly say how to use it when the battery remains in the car. (And based on the description and product photos I can keep the battery in the car while charging). Should I disconnect it or just put crocks same way as I'd to jump start the car?And yes, engine starts when I jump start from another car, so it should be flat battery...
